Welcome to Cowichan Land Trust

Discover Cowichan Valley from a conservation perspective. In these pages you’ll learn about our current and past stewardship projects, and connect with a wealth of conservation resources and related links. After you’re finished browsing our site, visit the Nature Cowichan website to connect with our environmental partners and find out more about nature-related events and opportunities in the region.

We hold conservation covenants on 30 properties, 28 in the CVRD, 1 in the Nanaimo Regional District and 1 in the District of Highlands. We have played a role in 5 land acquisitions in the Cowichan Valley including Cowichan Garry Oak Preserve, Moore Hill, waterfront land in Shawnigan Lake, Holland Creek Trail corridor, Chase Woods, Sansum Point Park and Rainbow Island.

We are excited about our water stewardship work and we continue to distribute our Cowichan Valley Community Green Map. The Cowichan WebMap allows you to learn more about each special place.

If you have any questions regarding our courses or events, please feel free to contact us at the office, by phoning (250) 746-0227.
