Quamichan Stewards appoints project coordinatorQuamichan Stewards is pleased to announce that Kai Rietzel will begin her work to coordinate the implementation of the Quamichan Watershed Management Plan on September 15. Kai holds a Bachelor's Degree in Geography from VIU and hasworked and volunteered for many non-profit groups including Nanaimo & Area Land Trust, Cowichan Community Land Trust, Cowichan Valley Young Naturalists, Morrell Sanctuary Society, the Raincoast Education Society and the Nanaimo River Stewardship Society. She is passionate about environmental stewardship and especially loves educating adults and children about our natural world. She is excited to be working back in the Cowichan Valley where she grew up, and to be helping fullfil the vision of the Quamichan Watershed Stewardship Society. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, and swimming with her husband and their two young children. Kai's appointment is made possible through the generous support of the EcoAction Community Funding Program administered by Environment Canada.
