Trail & Creek Clean-up

On Saturday, June 11, come join the Cowichan Land Trust and help clean up the Cowichan Valley Trail along Holmes Creek. We will have volunteers starting at both the Skinner Road trailhead and the trailhead at Sherman Road near Lane Road. This is a high traffic area for local residents and students, and is littered with garbage. We want to clean it up!

Join us starting at 10am-- we will be working our way along the trail until we meet somewhere in the middle. If you're planning to stay all day until the job is done, be sure to bring a lunch and water for yourself. Garbage bags will be provided by the Municipality of North Cowichan, but you'll need a pair of gloves!

This is one of several streamkeeper events to take place in the Cowichan Region as part of our Friends of Cowichan Creeks project. Over the next two years, the Land Trust will be working to monitor, protect and enhance creeks by facilitating the work of streamkeeper groups. If you'd like to get involved in streamkeeping, or want to learn more about the project, contact Jen by phone (250) 746-0227 or email: jen@cowichanlandtrust.ca
